Lions activities in 2006

- December 2006
- The Lions finish the term with toboganning at the Suffolk Ski Centre.
- Congratulations to Robert on achieving his Chief Scouts Gold Award.
- November 2006
- The Scouts spend a Troop night wall climbing at Writtle Agricultural College.
- The Scouts raise money towards their 2007 Hungary trip by bagpacking at Sainsburys, Boreham.
- October 2006
- 9 Scouts, including 3 of our newest members, took to the water on the last canoe trip of the year from Paper Mill Lock to Beeleigh Lock.
- 11 intrepid Scouts enjoyed a weekend of walking and climbing in the Peak District thanks to members of the ESMAT team.
- August 2006
- August saw the Lions Scout Troop take 23 Scouts to the Come To Tolmers week at Cuffley, Hertfordshire where they enjoyed an activity packed week.
- June 2006
- 8 of the more experienced Scouts enjoy the sunshine as they once more take to the Chelmer and Blackwater canal, this time for a longer than normal trip from Little Baddow Lock to Tesco's.
- Some of the Scouts join the Cubs to get a taste of Orienteering at Tiptree Heath.
- 15 Scouts raise monies for their camps by bagpacking at the local supermarket.
- May 2006
- The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts go on a Group trip to Wildwood.
- 10 Scouts safely navigate the waters of the Chelmer and Blackwater canal on the Scouts first canoe trip of the season from Paper Mill Lock to Beeleigh Lock.
- Some of the Scouts join the Cubs to get a taste of Orienteering at Tiptree Heath.
- 15 Scouts raise monies for their camps by bagpacking at the local supermarket.
- February 2006
- Scout kart comes home victorious in the East Essex Kart Rally.
- 10 Scouts played classic arcade games from the 70's and 80's in the RetroMasters competition at Prances.
- The weekend of the 18th/19th was a busy one for the Scouts. Saturday evening saw 16 Scouts joining with some of the older Cubs for a Sleepover at Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker. Then on Sunday morning there were two activities with the Scouts competing in both the County CycloCross Championship at Skreens Park, and the Orienteering at Chalkney Woods.
- January 2006
- 3 Scouts and 3 Cubs took on the might of the District at the District Chess Tournament, and won the Scout section trophy.
- 11 intrepid Scouts survived the cold and mud of Gilwell Park at Winter Camp 2006.
