Nuclear Bunker Sleepover - February 2006
After the public had left, 16 Scouts and 7 of the older Cubs 'invaded' the Secret Nuclear Bunker at Kelvedon Hatch for a 'Sleepover'.
Following a tour of the bunker, and a break for eating their packed tea it was time for the evenings activities; abseiling down the main stairwell from the top to the bottom of the bunker, air rifle shooting down the main entrance tunnel and a wide game where they searched for clues hidden around the bunker, unaware that they were being observed by the Leaders on the CCTV cameras!
After supper, thanks to 'Les the burger', they watched a film before going to bed. Sleep didn't seem very much on the agenda however, as some were still awake at 3.30am!!
It was all up at 7.00am on the Sunday morning where the Cubs and Scouts tried on some of the uniforms whilst breakfast was being cooked, before 'escaping' once more into the fresh air before it reopened to the public.
