Welcome to the 1st Heybridge Scout Group website.

At 1st Heybridge Scout Group we have a very thriving group consisting of about 120 boys and girls of ages ranging between 6 and 18 in very active Beaver, Cub and Scout Sections. Beavers for ages 6 to 8, Cubs from 8 to 10½, Scouts from 10½ to 14 and Young Leaders (Explorers) from 14 to 18. We welcome both Boys and Girls to all our sections.

• Throughout the summer the archery, canoeing and climbing proved popular once again with the Scouts and Cubs. Thanks to all those that helped.
• The Scouts, together with some of the Cubs and Explorers enjoyed a thrilling but exhausting day at Thorpe Park at the end of the holidays.
• The Climbing Course organised for the Group proved to be a success for all those that took part.
• Some of the Scouts and Explorers enjoyed a week of activities at the Essex Jamboree.
• The Cubs once again enjoyed an exhausting Cub Camp at Hallowtrees, Ipswich with this years theme being Superheroes.
• The Tigers enjoyed a Wet and Messy evening, where of course they succeeded in getting both wet AND messy!
• Twelve of the Lions Scouts enjoyed a paddle down the Chelmer and Blackwater Canal on the canoe trip.
• Another fundraising event proved to be a success. This time it was a race day.
• The Cubs enjoy a weekend of activities at Mega Camp, Gilwell Park.
