Lions activities in 2005
This page shows some of the activities that the Troop took part in in 2005.
- November 2005
- The Scouts joined with the Cubs for some singing at the Bonfire Night.
- Saturday 5th saw 5 Scouts and 1 Cub helping park cars at Danbury Fireworks.
- October 2005
- 16 Scouts enjoyed a paddle down the Chelmer and Blackwater canal on Sunday 16th October. This was the most we had ever taken on this trip and they were the first to try the Groups 12 new kayaks and canadian canoe. The weather was good to us with sun most of the time.
- 8 PL's and APL's spent the weekend of the 1st & 2nd October learning new skills to enable them to take their patrols camping. Read about the weekend and see some photos here.
- August 2005
- The Scouts go on their first International Camp to Adelboden Switzerland for ten days from the 12th to 21st August. Why not visit our Switzerland section to see what we got up to.
- July 2005
- 7 Scouts enjoyed a paddle down the Chelmer and Blackwater canal on Saturday 9th July. Fun was had at the weirs on route and many succeeded in getting wet whilst attempting walking around the kayak raft!
- June 2005
- Some of the Scouts spent a tiring day fundraising by packing bags at the local supermarket to raise monies towards their trip to Adelboden, Switzerland. - photos here.
- The Scouts spend a troop evening doing some tree husbandry and ground clearing at the Church ground. - photos here.
- May 2005
- 4 Scouts had an early 6.30am start for a spot of fundraising at the car boot sale to raise monies towards their trip to Adelboden, Switzerland. - photos here.
- 14 Scouts enjoyed good weather, although a cold night under canvas camping at Prances Camp Site, when they took part in a 12 mile overnight hike around Wickham Bishops on the weekend of 21st/22nd May. We didn't even manage to lose any of them. - photos here.

- The Lions visit Maldon Fire Station on 14th March as part of their Fire Safety badge. - photos here.
