Scouts and Explorers International Summer Camp to Czech Republic - 19th to 25th August 2016

At 5.30 on the evening of Friday 19th August 23 Scouts, Explorers and leaders met at the Bentalls complex in Heybridge, to catch a coach for 10 days of fun in The Czech Republic.

We boarded the coach and set off to catch the 10pm ferry to Calais, and travelled through the night to our house for the week and arrived at 4 the following afternoon. The rest of the day was spent sorting out the rooms, unpacking and settling in.

The Sunday saw us using a catching a Train into Prague, with a guided tour of the city in the morning, Visiting the Nuclear Bunker in the afternoon and finishing off with a meal and cruise, before catching the 11pm Train back to our house.

Monday we went to Tec Factor, based on Fort boyard.

Tuesday saw us traveling to Kutna Hora to see the Ossuary and Silver mines.

Wednesday the Scouts took the train to the High Rope centre for the morning before spending a couple of hours using the toboggan run, we then caught our coach that took us to the Trabant museum and finishing off with a traditional meal and entertainment.

Thursday We visited the Crystal factory and caves, before returning to base to have a cool down in the river.

The final full day in Prague saw the Scouts white water rafting and a last minute shop before heading back to the chalet to pack.

The following day we caught the coach ready to start our way home, Arriving home about 8am on Sunday morning.
