Nuclear Bunker Sleepover - February 2015

20 Scouts and Sixers and Seconders (Cubs) had a Sleepover in the Secret Nuclear Bunker at Kelvedon Hatch on Saturday 21st February. After a tour of the Bunker, the Scouts and Cubs had a quick bite to eat before heading off to various activities including Archery, Air rifles, Laser tag and Abseiling down the stairwell. This was then followed by a DVD and burger before settling down for the night at 11.30pm. 6.30 in the morning saw the youngsters getting up and playing a wide game, solving clues to lead their team to safety from a nuclear explosion. Half way through breakfast was served in the form of bacon and sausage rolls and then onto finishing the game. Afterwards the Scouts and Cubs came back upstairs and had the opportunity of getting their photo taken with Leopold Hughes (As a Sci-Fi film was in the middle of being filmed at the Bunker) he was assistant Director of this film, his previous films include Mission Impossible 5 and Red 2 amongst others. Sadly 9am came and all were packed off home tired and happy.
