Scouts International Trip to Adelboden, Switzerland - August 2014

15th to 24th August, Scouts and Explorers International Summer Camp to Switzerland.


At 5.30 on the evening of Friday 15th August 23 Scouts, Explorers and leaders met at the Bentalls complex in Heybridge, to catch a coach for 10 days of fun in Adelboden, Switzerland.

We boarded the coach and set off to catch the 10pm ferry to Calais, and travelled through the night to our house for the week Cantate and arrived at 2 the following afternoon. The rest of the day was spent sorting out the rooms, unpacking and settling in.

The Sunday saw us using a Cable car, and enjoying a morning of high ropes before taking the mountain scooters down and having a swim late afternoon.

Monday we went tobogganing all morning before venturing to the Oeschinensee Lake and Kandersteg international Scout Centre.

On Tuesday saw we took another Cable car to reach the Mountain cheese farm, then to see one of the largest waterfalls in Europe.

Wednesday the Scouts went to the Adventure Park and had a full day using the zip wires Rope Bridge and abseiling off the bridge.

Thursday We visited the Schilthorn and Thummelbach falls before stopping in Interlaken for a spot of shopping.

The final full day in Adelboden we made our way to the woodcarvers passing Choleren George on the way, the Scouts and Explorers then did a last minute shop in the afternoon before heading back to the chalet to pack.

The following day we caught the coach ready to start our way home, on the way we had a nice few hours in Colmar. Arriving home about 10am on Sunday morning.
