HMS Belfast - May 2013

Well it was a very full day in London. We walked a little way to the train station at Witham to get on the train. We stopped at the famous London Bridge station and walked a steady pace to the HMS Belfast and dropped our bags off. The boat smelt like soggy wellies but you did eventually get used to the smell. Then we walked to the amazing Imperial War Museum to find it was shut so we walked for ages and ages around London. We saw The Houses Of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Royal Barracks, Buckingham Palace, The Mall, Admiralty Arch, Trafalgar Square. Horse Guards, Downing Street, The Cenotaph and many government buildings. The first place we stopped for was the 4D experience which was amazing. Then we walked to the London Eye which was really scary but I did it which was an experience for me as I am petrified of heights. After that we walked to Wetherspoons (at Tower Bridge) for our dinner which was delicious then we walked back to the historic boat and played a game where we had to make a London Eye with straws. Our group won a key ring for the best model. We watched Battleships on dvd after and I fell asleep and went to bed.

In the morning we woke up and I made tea and coffee and we waited for Sally (out tour guide) to come down. She took us to the breakfast room and we had breakfast. Next Sally gave us a talk and we then walked around the boat with a leader which was fun. After that we went around the Tate Modern Gallery At 3 we walked to catch the train back to Witham. It was an amazing event.

Thank you.
