Sixers and Seconders Camp, September 2012

On Saturday 22nd Sept, 7 Cubs, 2 Young Leaders and 4 Leaders, set out on foot from Paper Mill Lock, with a 6 mile walk along the banks of the Chelmer and Blackwater canal. Along the way the Cubs engaged in a bit of Geocaching, and learned a bit about weirs and how the canal came about. Once we arrived at the Church Ground in Heybridge the Cubs had a short break before erecting their own tents. Then had a bit of free time before cooking their dinner of Sixers Supreme!!! Followed by Swiss Roll and custard, finally came the washing up. Later in the evening they toasted marshmallows on the fire before bed. The morning found them cooking their breakfast - toast and pigs in blankets!!, on the embers of the fire. After packing away the tents and equipment there was still time for a team game followed by some training and told what their role is in the Cub Pack.
