Leopards Conservation Badge - September 2011

Tuesday 20th September 2011 and the second night of our conservation badge.

Last week was spent clearing part of the Church Ground we use in Holloway Road. The kids worked really hard chopping down stinging nettles, raking up leaves and general tidying up ready for this week.

Tonight we planted some trees which had been kindly sponsored by RMH Plastering, Bill Hopkins and ASE Insurance Agency.

We managed to purchase 5 trees, 3 White Stemmed Birch & 2 Silver Birch. The kids done a great job of digging the holes and preparing the soil and then planting the trees. They all enjoyed the experience and now know how to plant trees and how important it is to plant new trees. Once finished they all stood back and were very impressed with their work.

We all hope that they will be there for many years to come and for future Cubs and Scouts to enjoy.

Well done 1st Heybridge Leopards.
