Winter Camp, Gilwell Park - January 2010

18 youngsters from 1st Heybridge braved the elements the weekend of 8/9/10th January despite the many severe weather warnings being bandied about on local and national radios. With snow on the ground and fun on their mind 6 Scouts and 12 Explorers searched Gilwell camp site for fun and friends. Despite ice on the coffee jar and the tea bags frozen in the teapot all seemed to be ready for the challenge. Least I think they were our youngsters. Mostly covered from head to foot in warm clothing and definitely not taking their coats of for anyone!! All appeared to have a great time both in the daytime and the evenings. Saturday evening saw 8 youngsters join the “oldens” watching a film in the warm. So it was a 12 who cares. It was warm!!! Minus 5 outside. Brrrr.
