HMS Belfast - May 2010

The Scouts and Explorer trip to the HMS Belfast was voted a good trip by all. Catching the train to Liverpool Street station then tube to London Bridge. Disembark (with the aid of very helpful porters). Kit stowed off we go again to Lambeth to visit the Imperial War Museum. Lunch on the lawn then let’s hit the sites. Parliament building, Westminster Abbey, The Barracks, Buckingham Palace, Admiralty Arch, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street. Then the embankment to view the London Eye and Cleopatra’s Needle. A gentle stroll to the Tower of London where we collapsed and had some we earned dinner. Tesco's then onto the Belfast for a game, DVD and bed and still only half past ten!!! Morning saw a substantial breakfast then a hike to the top of Tower Bridge with its fantastic views. Lunch on the Belfast then walk to Liverpool Street station (past the Monument). 2 trains and a bus journey saw us all back to Witham by 5. What a weekend.
