Cubs Chatham Docks Trip - June 2009

On the 20th June, 43 Cubs, Scouts and Leaders, headed off bright and early, for a day trip to the Historic Dockyard in Chatham. As well as boarding the warship, submarine and old boats, we also had the opportunity to have a costumed guided tour around the ropery, with some of the youngsters having a go at ropemaking. After lunch the different groups went of to the guided tour of the wooden walls, Lifeboats and museums. Dr. Who must also have dropped by as the Cubs and Scouts found his Tardis outside the police museum, but there was not a trace of the Doctor himself!!! The final trip of the day was aboard the paddlesteamer for a cruise down the River Medway, this was enjoyed by all. After a quick stop at the shop, all too soon it was time to board the coach for our journey home.
