Scouts Chelmer and Blackwater Canoe Trip - September 2007

Luckily the weather was good as 12 Scouts paddled the Chelmer and Blackwater Canal from Paper Mill Lock to Beeleigh Lock. For many of the younger Scouts this was the first time they had done the trip but, despite getting tired towards the end, they all managed to make it to the other end. For the two Explorers who came in the canadian they had a wetter end to the trip as they mysteriously capsised as we approached Beeleigh Lock. It was high tide, one of the highest of the year, when we got to Beeleigh so it was the first time that we had seen water flowing up the weir!
