Clive Searle Subcamp LeaderHi, I'm Clive and I'm 50 years old, having joined Scouting in 1990 when my son at 8 joined the local Cub Pack and I've never since left. Currently I'm the Group Scout Leader as well as running one of the Cub Packs and also an Area Leader for the Essex County Scout Archery Team, with whom I went to the World Jamboree in Holland in 1995. Since then, I've attend many Jamborees in Essex, Norfolk and Cambridge with the Scout Troop. Demeter is my first time as Sub Camp Leader and I'm looking forward to having a great time. |
Lin SearleHello, I'm Lin and I'm about the same age as the sub camp leader! I joined Scouting in 1991 as a Beaver Scout Leader, running a Colony for 10 years, now running the Scout Troop with four other Leaders. I've taken the Troop to several Jamborees. I have two children Lee (21) who went to Chile World Jamboree, and Annalise (17) who went to Thailand World Jamboree. Apart from Scouting, my main hobby is Archery, and I'm also a member of the Essex County Scout Archery Team. |
Annalise SearleHiya my name is Annalise, I'm 17 years old and recently took part in the World Scout Jamboree in Thailand. I have been to tons of Jamborees in the past and I have many hobbies including archery. I love to have a good time and lotsa fun and am convinced that Demeter will be the best sub camp u will see!! |
Sarah ExallHi, my name is Sarah and I'm 39. I've been involved with Scouting since my eldest son joined Beavers in 1999 and have been an Assistant Beaver Scout Leader since 2001. I was a Brownie, Guide and Ranger Guide and did my Young Leadership with Brownies before training as a paediatric nurse. I have 3 sons in various stages of scouting My interests include writing, computing and crafts. I've also just recently done my GNAS Archery Leader course and NSRA Youth Leader course. My job on Demeter is Editor of "Daily Demeter" and I'm also the nominated sub camp first aider. |
Martin ExallHi, I'm Martin and I have been in scouting since 1974 as a Cub and a Scout. I have 3 children in different stages of scouting. At present I am an ASL and also involved with many scouting activities. I am the subcamp treasurer and webmaster and I will be helping run the evening events. |
Les TaylorGreetings, I'm Les and I'm currently a parent helper of 1st Heybridge Lions. I started as a parent helper some 6 years ago and, although I've no children in scouting now, I still help out. I'm also qualified in many scouting things and have been on several jamborees. |
Robin BoustredHello. I am Robin Boustred. I have been CSL of 1st Heybridge Tigers since 1980, but I was Assistant Cub Master at 3rd Waltham Cross in the early 1960s. POR says that in 3 years time I have to hand over leadership to someone younger. I will be visiting the sub camp from time to time as photographer, assistant newsletter editor and technical backup. |

Sheila FieldHi, I'm Sheila. I have been a Brownie and a Guide Millennium ago and became an Assistant Guider for 5 years when we first came to Maldon 25 years ago. My hobbies are canoeing, hiking and gardening. Thanks to my Daughters involvement with Scouting I am pleased once again to have oppertunity to lend a hand. |
Colin BatchelorHi, I'm Colin. I have been male all my life, I once got involved with campanology but I do not have a hunched back. I work for a living and I have been known not to be taken too seriously sometimes. Mornings seem to disagree with me and sometimes several seem to attack me all at once. I think my teeth are made of rubber! |
Marleen VroemenHi, I'm Marleen. I was born in the The Netherlands and moved to England in 1995. I have been involved with scouting through the Essex Scouting Archery Team and the annual Colchester gang show. Come and see me at the Jamboree if you want to experience double Dutch. |

Clive SalmonHi my name is Clive Salmon and I am a 40 year old married chap from Colchester. I have been involved in scouts since I was 11yrs old and really enjoy the challenges it brings. My main hobbies are sport related and the main ones are something like: Squash, Golf, Aerobics plus I am a High Performance Coach for Trampolining in which I have coached several National Grade competitors including 3 winners! I also juggle very well and am generally into anything involving physical challenges. So hope you all enjoy your week on camp and look forward to meeting you all. |

DianeHi my name is Diane (Marcie is my Guide name - from the Charlie Brown cartoons). I have been an Assistant Guider in South East London for many years and I have had plenty of camping experience with my Guides and Cubs. I can't wait to meet everyone at the camp in the summer and I am now planning a series of 'good weather' dances to ensure that the sun shines for at least part of the camp..... join in if you can.... Debby DuchesneHi, my name is Debby and I am 40 years old. I have been a leader for 5 years now, and am currently an Assistant Cub Scout Leader. In my youth, I was a Brownie, a Guide and a Venture Scout. I have two children - Morgan (12) who was a Beaver and a Cub; and Bridie (8) who is currently a Cub. Through Scouting I am also involved as an archery instructor, and occasionally help out with a bit of canoeing. This will be my first time working on a Jamboree site, and I look forward to the experience. |
